US Market | Futures Indicator: Dow futures rise 200 points, but Nasdaq futures fall 1% as market rotation out of tech continues

Futures for the Dow rose 216 points or 0.7%. S&P 500 futures were flat and futures tracking the tech heavy Nasdaq-100 index fell 1.4% amid the ongoing investor rotation. Monday’s gains drove the Dow and the S&P 500 to new intraday record highs. The 30-stock average closed more than 800 points higher, posting its biggest one-day gain since June 5. It surged more than 1,600 points at one point before the weakness in the tech sector put pressure on the broader market. The S&P 500 gained 1.2%. US Market | Futures Indicator: Stock futures rise to start week even with spiking coronavirus cases, Boeing shares gain

Fred Imbert 3-4 minutes - Source: CNBC U.S. stock futures rose on Monday even as U.S. coronavirus cases continued to surge. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed about 0.4%. The move implied an opening gain of about 150 points. S&P 500 futures added 0.2%. Nasdaq-100 futures were lower. Earlier in the session, Dow futures had traded more than 100 points lower as investors reacted to spiking coronavirus cases in certain states over the weekend. Shares of Dow-member Boeing added 3% in premarket trading as certification flights for the Boeing 737 Max were set to begin Monday. Investors bet on select stocks on hopes most state economies will continue to reopen even as some hotspots pop up. Southwest Airlines jumped after Goldman Sachs upgraded the shares to buy from sell . Southwest added 1.7% in premarket trading. Shares of retailer Gap and casino MGM Resorts also gained in the premarket. Data compiled by Johns Ho
