European equities closed lower on Tuesday as markets turned cautious over when the U.S. Federal Reserve might scale back its stimulus program. Taper concerns continue U.S. stocks declined on Monday after activist investor Carl Icahn said he is "very cautious" on equities . Speaking at a Reuters investment summit, Icahn said he could see a "big drop" in markets because earnings at many companies were fueled by low borrowing costs rather than management strength.
