Heinz are focusing on a complex derivative bet routed through London, DealBook's Ben Protess and Susanne Craig report . The Securities and Exchange Commission is examining a product known as a contract-for-difference, which allows investors to bet on changes in stock prices without owning the shares, two people briefed on the matter said. The development comes after the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it opened a criminal inquiry.
