Happy birthday to us - SmartCompany is officially five years old! As I explain today in my Boss Lady blog, we had plenty of doubters when we started out but by focusing on high-quality journalism and the passion of entrepreneurs we’ve been able to build a wonderful community.

During the course of this week we’ll bring you a range of stories looking at the big trends we’ve seen come and go, plus the trends, industries and ideas that will emerge over the next five years. Today James Thomson kicks it all off by asking how the rich list will look in five years' time.

And as a special treat, we’ve created a brilliant free birthday eBook entitled My five commandments: 25 entrepreneurs reveal their lessons for business and life. There are some great names in there and literally hundreds of great insights – don’t miss it!
